Surprise Visit by Assistant Labour Commissioner in Pulwama Markets – Imposes Rs 25,000 Fine on Violators

Assistant Labour Commissioner Pulwama, Hafsa Qayoom, conducted an unannounced visit to various markets in the district on Sunday, imposing fines of Rs 25,000 on those found in violation of J&K Shops and Establishments and Child Labour Act.

In an effort to enforce labour laws, Assistant Labour Commissioner Hafsa Qayoom, accompanied by a team including Labour officers and Labour Inspectors, conducted surprise inspections in Pulwama, Awantipora, and Lethpora under the J&K Shops and Establishments Act and Child Labour Act.

During the inspections, violations of regulations were identified at certain locations, leading to the imposition of a fine of Rs 25,000 on the offenders. Assistant Labour Commissioner Hafsa Qayoom took the opportunity to remind shopkeepers and others to adhere to the rules set by the Labour Department. She emphasized that anyone found violating these rules will face legal consequences as per the law.
