SHOPiAN, FEBRUARY 13: The Social Welfare Department (SWD) in Shopian conducted a one-day training cum awareness program under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) at Government Degree College Zainpora.Officials from various departments, including Health, ICDS, Police, Numberdars, and members of the youth club, received training on different aspects related to the action plan. The focus was on understanding the role of each department in combating and addressing the issue of drug abuse.The Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zainpora, Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, who was the chief guest, addressed the gathering and highlighted the crucial role of Civil Society and Administration in dealing with drug-related issues. He emphasized the necessity of such awareness programs, especially in areas that are worst-hit by the menace of drug abuse.The program witnessed the participation of SDPO Zainpora, Sunil Kumar; TSWO, Farhana Tak; Central Administrator OSC, Sumaira Gulzar; Women Welfare Officer, Burooj-ul-Islam, along with other officials from the Social Welfare Department.The initiative is part of the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction, reflecting the collective effort of various departments and community members to address the challenges posed by drug abuse. Training and awareness programs play a crucial role in fostering a coordinated response and building a resilient community against the menace of drugs.
