BuzzBytes JAMMU, December 16: Acknowledging the remarkable strides in Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism sector under the Modi regime, senior BJP leader and former deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, highlighted the unprecedented growth that has significantly boosted the Union Territory’s economy. This achievement was underscored by the recent accolade bestowed upon Lolab Valley as the “Best Offbeat Destination.”
Gupta attributed this success to the unwavering efforts of the Union Government and the Union Territory Administration led by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, emphasizing their dedication to promoting and developing tourism. “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we have witnessed a transformative change in Jammu and Kashmir. The region, renowned for its breathtaking beauty and rich cultural heritage, is now receiving the recognition it truly deserves,” stated Gupta.
Pointing to the historical challenges faced by J&K, Gupta highlighted the significant transformation brought about by the Modi Government, breaking free from past shadows. “In 2023, a record number of tourists visited the Kashmir Valley, showcasing the success of our pro-people policies and the newfound stability and prosperity in the region,” he added.
Gupta commended the unprecedented efforts to preserve existing tourist destinations and introduce unexplored gems to the Union Territory’s tourist map. He emphasized the substantial expansion of the tourism sector during Modi’s twin tenure at the Centre, with infrastructure development on an unprecedented scale.
“The Modi government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for tourists has borne fruit,” Gupta affirmed. He declared Lolab Valley’s recognition as a victory not just for J&K but also for India’s tourism sector, highlighting the country’s dedication to showcasing its diverse destinations globally. Gupta concluded, “The BJP government at the Centre continues to work towards enhancing India’s position as a global tourism hub, with J&K playing a pivotal role in this endeavor.”
