In a joint operation, police from Jammu and Kashmir, and Nagpur apprehended two youths on Saturday for their alleged involvement in abducting a 15-year-old girl from the Union Territory and transporting her to Maharashtra.

The minor, a Class 10 student, was reportedly in a relationship with one of the accused, 19-year-old Mohd Muddasir Hussain. According to Sitabuldi police in Nagpur, Muddasir had promised to marry the girl and secure her a job in Hyderabad.

The trio, consisting of Muddasir, his cousin Mohd Yasir Hussain Shaheen (19), and the girl, initially traveled from J&K to Delhi before arriving in Nagpur via train on Saturday.

A coordinated effort between J&K police and their Nagpur counterparts led to the arrest of the young men at the railway station. Muddasir is a resident of Kishtwar district in J&K, while Yasir hails from Doda district.

The 15-year-old girl has been placed in a government hostel in Nagpur, as the J&K police continue their investigations into the matter.
