Jammu, November 20, 2023 — Kavita Garg, Union Joint Secretary from the Ministry for AYUSH, played a pivotal role in honoring tribal culture and welfare by visiting the Post Graduate Boys Tribal Hostel in Jammu, marking a significant stride during the ongoing Janjatiya Gaurav Saptah, a week-long celebration honoring India’s tribal communities’ rich cultural heritage and contributions.
In her capacity as the Prabhari Officer for Jammu district, Garg’s visit proved instrumental in providing a critical asset to the hostel – a 63KV generator set. This infrastructure upgrade, long awaited by the hostel’s students, symbolizes the government’s responsiveness to the needs of tribal students, demonstrating its commitment to their welfare.
The event witnessed the presence of key officers including Musheer Ahmad Mirza, Director of the Tribal Affairs Department, Sandeep Seointra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Ishita Rathi, and Dr. Abdul Khabir, Deputy Director of the department.
Addressing the gathering, Garg emphasized the profound significance of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra as the government’s extensive outreach initiative. She reiterated the commitment to ensuring the reach of government schemes to every corner of the nation, aligning with the vision of 100% saturation in service delivery. The celebration coincided with Janjatiya Gaurav Saptah, providing a platform to celebrate the distinctive cultures, traditions, and achievements of India’s tribal communities.
