JAMMU, NOVEMBER 18: Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice Chairperson of the Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), spearheaded a crucial performance review meeting for the Jammu Division today at Udhyog Bhawan.

The meeting witnessed the attendance of the Secretary/CEO of J&K KVIB and several senior officers from the Board.

Meeting Highlights:

Discussions during the meeting highlighted significant strides made during the current fiscal year. An impressive margin money of Rs. 86.16 crore, along with a bank loan totaling Rs. 286 crore, was disbursed for the establishment of 3914 units. Moreover, the period facilitated the creation of employment opportunities for 31,312 individuals, with projections aiming to exceed employment prospects for over one lakh persons by the fiscal year’s end.

Key Points Emphasized:

Vice Chairperson Bhat emphasized the pivotal role of field officers in actively promoting and disseminating the goals and objectives of the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). She urged district officers to diligently follow up on cases at the bank level, aiming to minimize instances of bank rejections. Additionally, she urged these officers to collaborate closely with banks and related agencies, fostering maximum participation from youth and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Subsequently, Vice Chairperson Bhat, accompanied by the CEO of J&K KVIB, visited several units established in urban areas of Jammu district, recognizing and acknowledging the efforts made by these establishments.

While commending the efforts of the officers, she stressed the importance of ensuring high-quality sponsorships, particularly in priority sectors, to pave the way for success stories in the near future.

The meeting’s discussions and directives reflect a commitment to furthering economic empowerment and employment generation initiatives, underscoring the essential role of active field officer involvement in realizing the objectives of these key developmental schemes.
