Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah on Monday paid respectful tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary and extended greetings to citizens on National Youth Day. He said Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts, which urge one not to stop until the goal is achieved, are awakening a sense of duty and patriotism among the youth and accelerating the making of a developed India.

In a post on X, Amit Shah said he bows in reverence to Swami Vivekananda and offered “heartfelt greetings” to all citizens on National Youth Day. He noted that Swami Vivekananda connected the youth of the country with India’s knowledge tradition, philosophy and spirituality, took this legacy to global platforms, and through the Ramakrishna Mission established enduring ideals of social service.

Shah said Swamiji’s message of not stopping before achieving the goal is today instilling a deep sense of responsibility and nationalism among young Indians. These ideals, he added, are energising the youth to contribute proactively to nation-building and to India’s journey towards becoming a developed country.
