Rajouri, October 3, 2023 – A tense situation unfolded today as a firefight erupted between insurgents and security personnel in the Broh village of Rajouri district.
A Cordon and Search Operation had been in progress in the Broh and Soom villages of Rajouri since the early hours of Monday, with extensive search efforts underway.
Initially, there were reports of sporadic gunfire in the area on Monday afternoon, which authorities initially described as “speculative fire.”
However, as the evening drew near, official sources confirmed that contact had been established between security forces and militants concealed within the forested terrain. An intense exchange of gunfire ensued between the two parties.
At the time of receiving the latest reports, the firefight was still ongoing, with no signs of abatement, according to sources on the ground.
