In a concerted effort towards the empowerment of women and gender equality, a Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) awareness program was organized by the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti at Block Hermain, Shopian.
Officials from DHEW and NRLM came together to emphasize the crucial significance of educating girl children, advocating for the strict enforcement of relevant rules and regulations under BBBP.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, a transformative initiative for the empowerment of girls through education, has been actively conducting awareness camps across the district. The District Mission Coordinator at DHEW Shopian enlightened the audience about the PC&PNDT Act, emphasizing the importance of educating girl children and promoting gender equality.
A Gender Specialist from DHEW Shopian delivered an insightful speech on women’s empowerment, highlighting the pivotal role of women in society. The speech encouraged females to overcome societal challenges, gender bias, and discrimination.
The program concluded with a collective pledge to safeguard the rights of girl children and eliminate gender inequality. The event witnessed active participation from Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Asha workers, NRLM staff, and local women, signifying a community-driven approach towards fostering awareness and empowerment.
