Srinagar,:— Chairperson of the Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, took significant strides towards enhancing facilities at spiritual shrines in Jammu and Kashmir. Today, she conducted a thorough review of the ziyarat Peer Dastagir Sahib (RA) at Khayar, Srinagar.
Accompanied by Waqf Board Member Syed Mohammad Haqqani and Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Dr Andrabi laid the foundation stone for a Noor Khana at the shrine, symbolizing a commitment to improving amenities. The inauguration of the utility complex marked a milestone in these efforts, emphasizing transparency and cleanliness at revered sites. Dr Andrabi engaged with visitors, local Waqf management, and representatives of various social groups during her visit.
Speaking to the media, Dr Andrabi highlighted the ongoing development works undertaken by the Waqf Board. “We are dedicated to upgrading facilities at spiritual shrines across J&K, with a focus on transparency and cleanliness. Public feedback guides our constitution works, and we are grateful for the support that enables us to fulfill our commitment to providing better facilities,” she stated.
Subsequently, Dr Andrabi visited the shrine of Hazarat Syed Hassan Mantaqi (RA) in Awantipora, where she inaugurated a grand gateway. Taking stock of Waqf properties, she instructed executive authorities to prioritize the development of required infrastructure for public welfare, emphasizing the role of public feedback in strategic planning for development. Dr Andrabi expressed gratitude for the public support that has enabled the Waqf Board to undertake these initiatives.
