In a swift operation on Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully apprehended two associates linked to the proscribed terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The arrest took place on the National Highway bypass in the outskirts of Srinagar.

The operation unfolded following actionable intelligence received by the Srinagar Police on Tuesday, indicating the movement of suspected terrorists along the NHW bypass. Responding promptly, a joint team comprising Srinagar Police and CRPF Quick Response Team (QRT) established a checkpoint near Sham Lal petrol pump, N R Colony.

According to a police spokesperson, during the checkpoint operation, a white Santro car with registration number JK09A 2788 was spotted. The vehicle, originating from Parimpora and en route to Tengpora, attempted to evade the police. However, the on-site officials tactfully apprehended the vehicle and its occupants.

The arrested individuals are believed to be associated with LeT, a notorious militant group that has been involved in various terrorist activities in the region. The police are expected to conduct thorough interrogations to gather more information about their involvement and any potential terror-related activities.
