KULGAM, OCTOBER 18: In a proactive move to engage with the public, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, led a series of Block Diwas sessions in Devsar, Kulgam, and D.H Pora blocks to tackle common issues facing the district.
During the Weekly Block Diwas event in Kulgam, Dr. Bhat assessed a range of issues concerning the public and their interests. Attendees from areas such as Ashthal, Gund Kilam, Rahaman, Kakran, Ladgoo, Chambagund, and others presented development and welfare demands. These included requests for a footpath in Gund Kilam, the development of a playground in Chambagund, the deployment of a full-time math teacher at High School Chambagund, and the construction of flood protection bunds.
Local representatives from Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) also voiced the developmental concerns of their respective areas.
District officers were on hand to respond to public queries and grievances, providing information on welfare schemes and ongoing development projects.
Dr. Bhat, after attentively listening to the issues raised during the event, promptly addressed some immediate grievances.
ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather presided over the Block Diwas event in Devsar, while SDM Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan oversaw the proceedings in D.H Pora.
