KULGAM, November 21: Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Kulgam, led a comprehensive meeting at the mini-secretariat, gathering officers and officials from the Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj (RDD&PR) to evaluate the progress and implementation status of various schemes within the district.
ACD Mohammad Imran provided an overview during the meeting, highlighting progress made under schemes such as MGNREGA, PMAY-G, and District Capex. He noted the issuance of 45,259 active job cards throughout the ongoing year, maintaining a 30 percent ratio of women job card workers.
Under MGNREGA, it was reported that 4,184 works were initiated and completed during the year 2023-24, with a wage disbursement totaling Rs. 40.85 crores. Regarding PMAY (G), out of the targeted 5,999 units, 2,454 units have been completed, while 3,545 units are in progress, with an expenditure of approximately Rs. 62.59 crores to date.
Additionally, under District Capex, 1,925 works were approved, of which 1,207 have been completed, accounting for an expenditure of Rs. 751.53 crores.
DDC Bhat urged the officials to accelerate the ongoing works under District Capex 2023-24 and PMAY (G), emphasizing adherence to set timelines for completion. He also emphasized the importance of diligently working to ensure cleanliness and aesthetic appeal in all villages, emphasizing proper waste management strategies.
Dr. Bilal stressed the significance of timely completion of all works, ensuring judicious use of funds and maintaining high-quality work standards to create durable assets.
The meeting witnessed the presence of ACR Imtiyaz-Ul Aziz, CPO Zahid Sajjad, ACP Shurjeel Ahmad, Exen, Rew, BDOs, along with various officers and officials.
