Rahi Nazar Kulgam, January 01: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, conducted a thorough review of arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations in 2024 during a meeting held at the mini-secretariat today.
Instructing officers to establish elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the National function, discussions were held on various aspects, including security, seating, car parking, transportation, illumination of buildings, and refreshments. The main celebration will take place at DPL Kulgam, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest, followed by a parade featuring contingents of JKP, CRPF, NCC, police band, women contingent, NCC, and schoolchildren.
Strict instructions were issued to all concerned departments to make advance arrangements for the Republic Day celebration, emphasizing heating arrangements due to prevailing cold weather conditions. Close coordination between departments was stressed, and KPDCL was instructed to ensure smooth power supply with standby DG sets at the venue. The Municipality and Power department were tasked with illuminating the main buildings in the town.
The DC also urged arrangements for colorful cultural programs and instructed the Executive Engineer MED to ensure readiness for timely snow clearance if needed. Heads of departments and institutions in the district were directed to unfurl the National Flag in their offices.
The meeting was attended by officials from various departments, including ADDC, ADC, DPO, JDP, ACD, SDM Noorabad, GM DIC, and representatives from Police, Army, CRPF, among others. The meeting showcased a commitment to ensuring a seamless and vibrant Republic Day celebration in Kulgam.
