DC Srinagar Addresses Public Grievances, Holds Redressal Camp at Koolipora, Khanyar

Srinagar, February 21: In a bid to address the grievances of the public and ensure on-the-spot resolution of developmental issues, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, conducted a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Koolipora in Shahar-e-Khaas, Khanyar Tehsil.The camp witnessed the active participation of residents from various areas, including Koolipora, Nowpora, Alamdar Colony, Imambara, Nowhatta, Rangar Stop, Rainawari, SaidaKadal, Khojyarbal, Brari Nambal, Babademb, Khawaja Bazar, Astanpora Brein, Abi Karpora, and adjacent localities.During the camp, public delegations, local Masjid Intizamiya Committees, and individuals presented various developmental issues to the DC. These included concerns about drinking water supplies, drainage and sewerage network strengthening, road repairs and widening, macadamization, development of Brari Nambal, functionality of water fountains and street lights, power infrastructure upgrades, and cleanliness measures around Dal Lake.The DC, after patiently listening to the grievances, sought on-the-spot responses from the concerned District Officers present during the camp. He assured the people that their genuine demands and issues would be prioritized for prompt redressal, giving on-the-spot directions to address immediate concerns.Dr. Bilal emphasized that the administration has initiated grievance redressal camps in city areas, including Shahr-e-Khaas, to directly engage with the public instead of them having to visit government offices. He highlighted the importance of proper follow-up to ensure the timely resolution of public issues.Addressing the gathering, the DC stated that holding such grievance redressal camps is a part of the District Administration’s effort to reach the doorstep of the people and address local issues. He encouraged officers to conduct field visits to address public concerns and reiterated the openness of the DC Office for those with genuine developmental issues.Responding to water augmentation concerns, the DC assured the implementation of new schemes, including Amrut 2.0, to enhance drinking water supply in urban areas.The Public Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, and various other officials from different departments, emphasizing the collaborative effort to address public grievances.
