Srinagar, February 06:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing construction works at Zewan for the Migrant Transit Accommodation dedicated to PM Package employees. The visit aimed at assessing the progress and ensuring adherence to set deadlines.Accompanied by key officials, including the Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineers from R&B, PDD, and PHE departments, Tehsildar Panthachowk, and other concerned authorities, the DC inspected various blocks under construction for the Migrant Transit Accommodation.An update on the project revealed that construction is underway for 39 blocks, comprising 936 flats, with an expenditure of Rs 67 crore out of the allocated Rs 112.34 crore. The project has achieved over 70% completion, with 26 blocks, comprising 624 flats, having completed civil works.The DC was briefed that 10 blocks of Migrant Transit Accommodation for PM Package employees are set to be completed by March 2024. Additionally, progress on drinking water facilities, including the construction of a 50,000 Gallons RCC Sump and Operators quarter, and a 100,000 Gallons dome-type RCC service reservoir, was reported to be over 60% and 85% respectively.Assessing the power supply infrastructure, the DC was informed about ongoing works, including the erection of 2 No.11kV feeders, DTs for 39 residential towers, and illumination/streetlights around the periphery.While emphasizing the importance of timely completion, the DC instructed the executing agency to accelerate ongoing construction works for community halls, approach roads, and protection/boundary walls at the site. He particularly urged the agency to handover 10 blocks of the facility by March 2024, as committed.The visit aimed to ensure that the Migrant Transit Accommodation project progresses smoothly and meets the stipulated deadlines for the benefit of the PM Package employees.
