Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Approves Expansion of NCC Units in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

New Delhi: In a move aimed at strengthening youth development and national integration in the region, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has given the green light to establish four additional National Cadet Corps (NCC) units in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.The approved proposal encompasses the formation of one Mixed (Boys & Girls) Army Battalion each in Udhampur (J&K), Kupwara (J&K), and Kargil (Ladakh). Additionally, an Air Squadron is set to be established in Udhampur (J&K).This expansion not only emphasizes the government’s commitment to bolstering defense and security infrastructure in the region but also underscores the importance of involving both genders in defense-related activities. The move is expected to provide valuable opportunities for youth engagement and skill development in the strategically significant areas of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
