Delegation from J&K Media Council Engages in Productive Dialogue with CS Shri Atal Dallo

Srinagar 22/12/23– A delegation from the Jammu and Kashmir Media Council, led by President Iqbal Ahmed and General Secretary Arshid Mir , held a significant meeting today with J&K Chief Secretary ( IAS) Shri Atal Dalloo at his office. The delegation, accompanied by executive members Nasrullaha Gazi, Mehraju din dar, Shabnum Fayaz, Mir Mudasir, and Aijaz Ahmad, warmly welcomed Shri Atal Dalloo to the enchanting region of Kashmir and engaged in discussions on various challenges faced by the media fraternity in the area.

During the meeting, President Iqbal Ahmed and General Secretary Arshid Mir articulated the perspectives and concerns of the media community, addressing issues ranging from infrastructure challenges to the importance of safeguarding freedom of the press in the region. The other executive members, Nasrullaha Gazi, Mehraju din dar, Shabnum Fayaz, Mir Mudasir, and Aijaz Ahmad, also contributed valuable insights, enriching the dialogue with their diverse perspectives.

Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dalloo expressed his appreciation for the proactive engagement of the J&K Media Council and emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by media professionals. He acknowledged the vital role played by the media in the democratic process and assured the delegation of continued support in creating an enabling environment for journalistic endeavors.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to ongoing collaboration between the J&K Media Council and government officials. President Iqbal Ahmed, General Secretary Arshad Mir and the accompanying executive members expressed optimism about the future of media in Jammu and Kashmir and pledged to work together for the betterment of the media fraternity.
