DGP Inaugurates Free Cancer Screening Camp at Police Hospital, Jammu

Swain inaugurated a one-day free cancer screening and health checkup camp at Police Hospital, Jammu. Collaborating with the American Oncology Institute (AOI), the event saw the DGP flagging off three new ambulances, further bolstering medical facilities for police personnel.The camp, held at DPL Ground, witnessed the DGP emphasizing the importance of caring and handholding, values embraced by the J&K Police. Expressing gratitude for the collaboration between Police Hospital Jammu and AOI, the DGP commended AOI’s role in the fight against cancer, highlighting their knowledge, skill, and experience.The day-long health checkup and cancer screening camp featured a range of services, including mammograms, oral screenings, PAP smears, PSA tests, and routine blood investigations. Medical specialists and nursing staff, along with super-specialized mobile vans equipped with necessary machinery, were on-site to provide comprehensive healthcare services.Dr. Neeraj Bishnoi – RCOO North Region AOI, Dr. Satyanker Gupta-Sr. Consultant Medical Oncology, Dr. Deepak Abrol-Sr. Consultant Radiation Oncology, and Dr. Surbhi Kudyar-Associate Consultant Surgical Oncology of AOI, alongside doctors from Police Hospital Jammu, conducted screenings and health checkups during the day.The primary objectives of the medical camp were to promote awareness about cancer and preventive healthcare measures. The DGP, during his visit to the Police Hospital, inspected various facilities and urged medical staff to provide optimum services to police families.Present at the inauguration were Spl DG Crime J&K A.K Choudhary, ADGP headquarters M.K Sinha, IGP (Headquarters) PHQ B.S Tuti, and other senior officers of Jammu District, PHQ, underscoring the significance of the event in community health initiatives.
