Digital Initiatives Empower Dropout Students: “Noor” Program Launched in Baramulla

BuzzBytes Baramulla, November 24: In a dedicated effort to reintegrate “out-of-school children” into mainstream education, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, alongside Joint Director Planning, M. Yousuf Rather, and Chief Education Officer, Balbir Singh Raina, launched the “Noor” campaign in Baramulla.

The “Noor” program, initiated by the Education Department, is a digital door-to-door campaign aimed at bringing all dropouts back into the formal education system.

Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, after launching this ambitious initiative, praised the Education Department’s commitment to reintegrating dropout students, emphasizing its significance in driving improvements as part of the Aspirational District Programme.

Dr. Sehrish urged the appointed zonal coordinators to fully leverage technology, highlighting its pivotal role in ensuring the program’s success.

As part of the program, the “Noor” mobile application (Multi Reporting Tool) was launched to conduct a door-to-door digital survey at the Panchayat and ULB levels to trace out-of-school children.

Additionally, the DC inaugurated an e-repository of recorded video lectures for 11th and 12th class NEET and IIT aspirants, prepared from the Digital Studio CEO’s office and managed by the Teacher Informatics Center (TIC).

As part of the Aspirational District Programme, Dr. Sehrish distributed tablets among program coordinators from all 18 zones of the district, aiming to streamline data collection at the zonal level and facilitate comprehensive reporting across various centrally sponsored programs.

The CEO expressed gratitude towards the district administration for unwavering support in aligning with educational objectives outlined under the Aspirational District Programme.
