Aidl Akbar Kupwara, Feb 2: In a commendable effort by the District Administration Kupwara, helicopter services were arranged today to airlift 22 stranded passengers and patients from the snow-bound Karnah Subdivision. The initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Ms. Ayushi Sudan and UT administration Cooperation, received widespread appreciation.Twelve individuals, including five patients in need of advanced treatment, were airlifted from Tangdhar to Kupwara in two air sorties during the day. Additionally, ten stranded passengers bound for Karnah were airlifted from District Police Lines (DPL), Kupwara, in a subsidized helicopter service.Nodal Officer Heli Service, Mudasir Sikander, monitored the helicopter service facility at DPL Helipad Kupwara. The timely requisition of heli service underscores the commitment of the Civil administration to ensure essential healthcare and other services reach even the remotest areas, close to the Line of Control, thereby saving lives and fostering community solidarity.This initiative comes as a major relief for the people of Karnah, who faced hardships due to the closure of Chowkibal-Tangdar road and adverse weather conditions. The helicopter service is a crucial step in providing essential services and healthcare to these remote areas, highlighting the administration’s dedication to serving the community.
