District Level Cooperative Development Committee Propels Holistic Growth in Ramban

The District Level Cooperative Development Committee (DLCDC) convened a meeting to scrutinize the functioning of Cooperative Institutions in Ramban, guided by Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary.

Key attendees included Additional Deputy Commissioner Harbans Lal, ACR Giasul-Haq, CPO Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, ACD Ashok Singh Katoch, GM DIC Ravinder Anand, CAHO Dr. Sohail Kawoosa, CAO Ram Gopal, and other concerned officers.

In a detailed discussion, DRCS was directed to increase the number of PACS, extending cooperative benefits to grassroots levels. The committee stressed close coordination to register more Multipurpose PACS, Dairy & Fisheries Cooperatives. A directive was issued to identify state land for a Petrol/Diesel pump by PACS and to submit a feasibility report for the World’s largest Grain Storage project within 10 days.

The committee further urged other PACS to apply for fertilizer licenses, implement PM KUSUM schemes, and emphasized working towards a viable & sustainable Cooperative model. The new DLCDC committee, aimed at strengthening the Cooperative movement in J&K, received commendation.

Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies District Ramban outlined the meeting’s agenda, highlighting progress in initiatives like CSC, Jan Aushadi Kendras, PMKSK, and PACS Computerization. Progress under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme was also reviewed, with 935 beneficiary applications approved for various interventions, fostering agricultural transformation, holistic growth, and youth employment.
