Div Com Explores Interior Hamlets of Dal Lake, Examines LCMA’s Beautification Efforts in Kachri Mohalla

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 16: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, conducted an extensive tour of the interior hamlets of Dal Lake to assess the progress of eco-development and beautification works at Kachri Mohalla. These initiatives, executed by J&K Lake Conservative & Management Authority (LCMA), aim to transform the hamlets into model villages.

Accompanied by Vice Chairman LCMA, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Commissioner SMC, Athar Amir, and other LCMA officers, the Div Com inspected various aspects of the ongoing development, including sewer line construction, beautification of parks, wooden piling of land peripheries, dredging channels for water transport, and the creation of walkways and gazebos.

During the visit, Div Com emphasized the need for the timely execution of these eco-development activities and instructed officials to expedite the ongoing works. He specifically called for the illumination of hamlets using decorative lights and ensuring the functionality of streetlights. Additionally, Div Com highlighted the importance of dredging channels and opening routes connecting Kachri Mohalla with Nehru Park.

Addressing environmental concerns, Div Com advised inhabitants to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and implement proper disposal systems for plastic waste. He stressed the social responsibility of residents in keeping their environment clean and encouraged them to enhance the aesthetics of their villages by painting rooftops and walls.

The Div Com received a warm welcome from the locals, who expressed gratitude for addressing their demands and issues. Residents reported a significant increase in tourist footfall due to the ongoing beautification works.

Later, Div Com, along with officers, assessed the upgradation process of Nishat Sethu for the walkway.
