Div Com Inspects Accident Site and Ensures Safety Measures, Visits GMC Doda for Injured Assessment

Doda, November 16 : Responding swiftly to a tragic road mishap in Doda, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, conducted a spot inspection at the accident site in Assar to personally assess the road conditions and safety measures.

Accompanied by several key officials, including Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh, and other high-ranking officers from various departments, the Div Com undertook a thorough evaluation of the area. The purpose was to analyze the existing road safety measures and discuss immediate steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.

During the assessment, the Div Com directed the concerned authorities to identify black spots along the Highway and compile a comprehensive list to address safety concerns. Measures discussed included raising the crash barrier height, installing signages, mirrors, and other visibility aids to enhance road safety and awareness among commuters.

Following discussions with experts, the Div Com stressed the importance of prompt action by all concerned departments to ensure commuter safety and prevent future mishaps on Doda’s roads.

Subsequently, the Divisional Commissioner visited the Government Medical College & Hospital in Doda to inquire about the condition of the injured from the accident. Senior doctors briefed him on the health status of the injured individuals, with confirmation that 15 patients admitted to the hospital were in stable condition.

Directives were issued by the Div Com to the district administration to appoint a nodal officer for coordination and ensure proper care for the injured at the hospital. He emphasized the necessity of providing the best medical care for their speedy recovery.

Additionally, Ramesh Kumar chaired a meeting of the Road Safety Committee at the DC office complex to analyze the accident’s cause and discuss future safety measures. The committee recommended strategic actions, including stationing a senior doctor and paramedic in CHC Assar, deploying an advanced life support ambulance between Assar and Khellani, and increasing roadside vehicle checks.

The Divisional Commissioner directed stringent actions against traffic violators, instructing the concerned departments to install crash barriers, signages, and speed limit monitors at identified black spots for commuter safety and awareness. He also emphasized the need for robust control rooms, inter-district coordination, and healthcare infrastructure enhancement in the region. Additionally, he advocated for updated disaster response teams, advanced training for rescue volunteers, and immediate accident cause audits by designated officers from various departments.
