SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 19: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, emphasized the need for expedited progress on ongoing developmental projects before the onset of harsh winter conditions in the region.
During a meeting, Div Com Bidhuri specifically called for the timely completion of significant projects, including the Bemina and Nowgam flyovers, to improve traffic flow at crucial junctions. He instructed authorities to ensure the metaling and macadamization of the main overpass roads of the flyovers, allowing for smooth vehicular movement on the Bypass.
The meeting also addressed several ongoing projects of the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), focusing on their early completion. Projects such as the Balidan Stambh, Sangarmal Junction, parking facilities at Hat-Trick, and the operation of Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras were discussed.
Regarding the Natipora Rambagh Barzulla Bund Road, the Div Com stressed the importance of conducting a clear demarcation of state-owned land based on official records. He also directed the removal of encroachments to prioritize the development of the Bund Road.
Additionally, Div Com Bidhuri issued instructions for black topping (BT) on city roads where necessary to prepare them for the upcoming winter season.
Officials from the Departments of Roads and Buildings (R&B), Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), Revenue, and Law who attended the meeting provided feedback on the mentioned projects, including their physical and financial progress, as well as action taken reports.
