BuzzBytes Jammu, 03 Dec 2023 – The Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu has filed a comprehensive 253-page charge-sheet against three siblings in the Court of law, pertaining to a case (FIR No. 16/2019) under sections 420, 120-B/IPC, at P/S Crime Branch Jammu. The accused are alleged to have engaged in a criminal conspiracy, defrauding the complainant of Rs 43 lakhs in a deceitful land sale deal.

The accused individuals, identified as Narayan Singh, Suram Singh, and Chain Singh, all sons of Dharam Singh and residents of Village Birpur, Tehsil Bari-Brahmana, District Samba, are accused of luring the complainant into a deal for the sale of a 51 Marla piece of land at Birpur Bari Brahmana.
The case originated from a complaint by Mr. Manmohan Singh of Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, who alleged that the accused offered to sell their land, claiming it was coming under acquisition. The complainant paid Rs. 17 lakhs to each accused under the agreement that he would receive compensation after the acquisition proceedings.
However, the accused, in a well-orchestrated plan, deceitfully revoked the General Power of Attorney behind the complainant’s back. The fraud came to light when the accused communicated to the Collector Land Acquisition 220/33KV-PDD Jammu, cancelling the Power of Attorney granted to the complainant, aiming to redirect the compensation payment into their own accounts.
Following a preliminary verification and subsequent investigation, the charge-sheet was filed, establishing offenses under sections 420, 120-B/IPC. The charge-sheet includes seized relevant records, witness statements, scientific and circumstantial evidence, outlining the elaborate scheme employed by the accused to defraud the complainant.
The case is now set for judicial determination as the Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu seeks legal proceedings against the accused siblings for their alleged involvement in this Rs 43 lakh land fraud.
