Shobum Kotwal Jammu, December 11, 2023- Ravinder Raina, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, has urged everyone to respect the Supreme Court’s judgement on Article 370. Raina hailed the historic decision, emphasizing its significance for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Highlighting the implications of Article 370, Raina stated that various communities, including Tribals, Gujjars, Bakkerwals, Gaddi-Sippi, and others, had faced challenges for 70 years. He pointed out that OBCs in J&K were deprived of their rights, West Pakistan Refugees were denied citizenship, and residents from PoJK were denied basic rights.
Raina underscored the positive impact of the Supreme Court’s decision, citing that it has paved the way for the rights of Pahari, Gujjar-Bakerwal, PoJK, WPRs, women, Dalits, Gorkhas, Valmikis, ensuring a dignified life with basic rights. He highlighted the endorsement of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat mission’ by the SC, emphasizing its benefits for every religion, community, and resident of Jammu & Kashmir.
Expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah, Raina acknowledged the restoration of basic rights to every resident of J&K. He urged political parties to refrain from politicizing Article 370, emphasizing the importance of working together for the development, peace, and progress of Jammu & Kashmir.
Ravinder Raina reiterated the democratic values of the nation and the supremacy of the judiciary, calling for collective efforts towards a better future. He urged all parties to focus on the welfare and betterment of the people, promoting peace, prosperity, and harmony in Jammu & Kashmir.
The J&K BJP Chief Spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, emphasized the non-political nature of the Supreme Court judgment, describing it as historic and aligned with the wishes of the entire country. He clarified that the judgment validated the complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir, addressing questions raised on the nation’s unity.
