In a significant move towards a cleaner and greener nation, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, led a cleanliness drive in the Cantonment Area of Jammu. This initiative is part of the Nationwide Swachhta Abhiyan, a campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote cleanliness and hygiene across India.
The cleanliness drive, which witnessed enthusiastic participation, was carried out under the active supervision of Vinay Gupta, BJP Senior Leader; Narinder Koki, Vice President District; Bharat Bhushan, Vice Chairman Cantonment; and various other dignitaries and officials.
The event commenced with a gathering at a park in Ward 7 of the Cantonment area, where sanitation workers (Safai Karmcharis) were honored for their invaluable contributions to the city’s cleanliness. This appreciation was followed by a tree plantation drive in the children’s park, attended by Defense Officers. Subsequently, a thorough cleanliness drive was initiated to further enhance the overall sanitation of the area.
Addressing the gathering, Kavinder Gupta emphasized the significance of the Swachhta Abhiyan initiated at the national level by Prime Minister Modi. He lauded the dedication and hard work of sanitation workers in maintaining the city’s cleanliness. Gupta urged the public to view cleanliness as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-day event and encouraged everyone to make it a part of their daily routines, fostering a clean and green environment.
Gupta reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Modi-led Central Government to the welfare of the common people. He called upon citizens to actively support the Prime Minister’s vision for a clean and green nation, which was launched through the Swachhata Abhiyan a few years ago. This event serves as a testament to the collective effort required to realize this vision.
