Ganderbal Police Busts Drug Peddling Operation; Notorious Peddler Arrested

In a swift and targeted operation, Ganderbal Police, acting on credible information, apprehended a notorious drug peddler identified as Feroz Ahmad Bhat. The accused, running Afreen Communication Shop near the clock tower in Duderhama, Ganderbal, was allegedly involved in selling drugs to local youth in the area.

Under the direction of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, a police party led by SHO PS Ganderbal conducted a raid at the mentioned shop. The search, supervised by Dy.SP Hqr’s Ganderbal, resulted in the discovery and seizure of banned drugs, including 12 bottles of Rekof (100 ml each) and 30 boxes (3000 tablets) of Tapentadol (100 mg each). The confiscated contraband was hidden within the shop premises.

The accused, Feroz Ahmad Bhat, was arrested on the spot, and the seized substances were documented in the presence of an Executive Magistrate First Class. A case (FIR No. 333/2023) has been registered at PS Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway.

Ganderbal Police sends a stern warning to drug peddlers, emphasizing a commitment to a drug-free Ganderbal. Those involved in this menace are urged to cease their activities, or they will face legal action under relevant sections of the law in the future. The police are dedicated to curbing the drug trade and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
