Buzzbytes Dec21:

Kashmir Division: In light of the early and severe onset of winter causing disruptions and inadequate heating arrangements in academic institutions, a communique has been issued to address the challenges faced by students in the Kashmir Division.
The official communication highlights the difficulties encountered by students, especially those traveling long distances or residing in hostels or private accommodations due to the merit-based admission system. “The prevailing conditions have led to significant disruptions in normal classwork,” the statement reads, emphasizing the pressing need to ensure uninterrupted academic progression.
To mitigate the challenges posed by extreme cold conditions and safeguard the academic interests of students, the communique mandates a transition to online teaching methodologies. “Effective from December 1, 2023, until December 31, 2023, or until the declaration of winter vacations, whichever occurs earlier, classes across all Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir Division will be conducted via online mode,” the directive specifies.
This strategic decision aims to uphold the quality of education while prioritizing the safety and well-being of students, ensuring that learning remains unhindered despite the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the region.
