Budgam, Aug 21: People’s Democratic Front (PDF) president and former minister Hakim Mohammad Yaseen has welcomed the reopening of Doodhpathri and thanked the Lieutenant Governor’s administration and the police for facilitating public access to the tourist destination.
Speaking to reporters, Yaseen urged the administration to reopen Toshamaidan at the earliest, saying that hundreds of poor families in the area depend on tourism and related activities for their livelihood.
He also criticised the National Conference government, alleging that the promises made to the people in its election manifesto remain unfulfilled. Yaseen claimed that there has been a lack of visible development and that the government’s commitments have largely remained on paper.
Expressing gratitude for the reopening of Doodhpathri, the former minister reiterated his demand for the early reopening of Toshamaidan so that local residents can resume earning their livelihood and benefit from tourism-related opportunities.
