Despite a scarcity of snowfall in the Gulmarg bowl and dry weather in the Gulmarg Subdivision, this service allows visitors to relish the breathtaking views of the renowned ski resort.Abdul Majeed Bakshi, a Tangmarg youth from Watalpora Tangmarg village, initiated the Heliski Helicopter service, marking a significant milestone in the adventure tourism landscape of Gulmarg.The Heliski Himalayas experience is described as incredible and unforgettable, allowing enthusiasts to traverse the world’s highest and steepest mountains, offering thousands of ski vertical meters. The service was pioneered by Kashmir Heliski in 2011 in the Pir Panjal range of the Western Himalayas, based in the Gulmarg ski resort in India.Kashmir Heliski ensures safety with AS350B3e helicopters specially designed for high-altitude mountainous terrain, boasting a flawless safety record over the past 11 years. Local and international guides, along with experienced Swiss pilots, contribute to a secure and exhilarating adventure, drawing on decades of guiding experience in the Himalayas and globally.The service has witnessed significant attention, showcasing a burgeoning tourism sector in Gulmarg. Offering a unique blend of adventure and the charm of snow-covered landscapes, tourists can now explore higher reaches of Gulmarg, including Sunshine Peak, Pehjan Pathri, Affartwatt, and Khilanmarg, signaling a major boost in tourism for the region.
