Jammu, August 17,(BuzzBytes):In an effort to provide historical clarity, Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, has endorsed the statements made by former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. Azad had recently discussed the timeline of Islam’s inception in India during an event in Doda’s Chiralla area, asserting that the religion was introduced to the sub-continent approximately 1500 years ago. Kavinder Gupta concurs with Azad’s statement, explaining that prior to the influx of invaders who introduced other religions, the aboriginal population practiced Hinduism.

Gupta echoed Azad’s sentiment that Hinduism was the predominant religion in India centuries ago. He emphasized that historical records also indicate that Kashmir, around 600 years ago, was inhabited by Hindus with no presence of Muslims. The conversion to Islam was largely a consequence of invasions, often accompanied by brutal force against those who resisted.

Gupta supported his endorsement by referencing the case of the ninth Guru of Sikhs, who stood up for Kashmiri Hindus and was martyred while opposing the Mughal rulers’ oppression.

Addressing contemporary concerns, Gupta cautioned against political entities exploiting the situation to sow division within society for their own gains. He reminded the public that all share a common ancestry and belong to the same society, discouraging any unnecessary divisions.

Responding to recent allegations by PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti regarding India’s situation and its international standing, Gupta refuted her claims. He highlighted India’s remarkable progress and projected it to become the third-largest global economy. Gupta further pointed out that Mufti’s influence has waned due to her inability to exert political pressure on the current central government, which differs from her experience with previous administrations.

Gupta labeled Mufti’s criticisms as expressions of frustration and desperation to regain political relevance. He criticized her for propagating false narratives to further her party’s interests rather than the wellbeing of common Kashmiris.

The occasion of Gupta’s address marked the inauguration of developmental projects in Greater Kailash’s Ward No. 68. The commencement of works worth Rs 1 crore on drains and lanes, along with the initiation of the Rs 12 lakh Bathing Ghat project in Ward No. 1 of the Cantonment area, was celebrated.

Among those present were Vinay Gupta, Narinder Koki, Bharat Bhushan Vice Chairman of the Cantonment, Anil Kumar Corporator of Ward 68, and several community members who were part of the event-(BuzzBytes)
