Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday urged people to harness power for societal transformation and work towards a prosperous India that lights the path for the world, while addressing the commemorative event marking the 508th Nirvan Diwas of Sant Kabir at Chak Avtara, Bishnah, Jammu.
The event was organised by Shiromani Sant Kabir Bhavan. Addressing a large gathering, the LG said Sant Kabir’s eternal wisdom and message pave a brighter societal path, strengthening unity while fostering both spiritual and material progress for the nation.
“Sant Kabir’s legacy and philosophy are shining brightest today, awakening the inner soul of society,” Sinha said.
Highlighting India’s civilisational ethos, the LG said the country’s greatest strength lies in its ability to harmonise technology with tradition.
“India’s strength is Tech and Tradition, Microchip and Mantra. Our ancient roots and digital branches, modern tools and timeless values of our sages offer the perfect blueprint for 21st-century success and prosperity,” he said, adding that India is stepping forward to guide the world towards peace and prosperity through its saintly traditions and timeless values.
Emphasising India’s age-old principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the LG said the mantra holds unprecedented relevance in today’s divided world.
“As global divisions deepen in economic and strategic realms, India’s timeless wisdom offers a vision where unity, peace and joy become a universal way of life. In the face of civilisational threats, the world will turn to India for grounding,” he said.
Calling for inclusive growth, Sinha urged all sections of society to work collectively to bridge economic gaps and eliminate social divisions. “It is our shared duty to embrace inclusion and constitutional values for true harmony,” he said.
Responding to public demands raised at the event, the LG reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to addressing issues related to reservation in promotion and to granting a gazetted holiday on Sant Kabir Jayanti in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The programme was attended by Rajeev Bhagat, MLA Bishnah; Faqir Chand Bhagat; Vipen Kumar; senior officials, prominent citizens and people from all walks of life.
“India’s strength lies in Tech & Tradition, Microchip & Mantra; Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam more relevant than ever,” says LG
