International Women’s Day Celebrations Enthrall Ramban: Marathon and Awareness Initiatives Steal the Show

Mir Mudsir Ramban, March 7, 2024: The celebration of International Women’s Day in Ramban witnessed spirited participation from the community, featuring a range of events aimed at promoting women’s rights and raising awareness on gender-based discrimination.Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, the Department of Social Welfare orchestrated a series of pre-events, highlighting the global significance of the occasion. Nukkad Nataks (street plays) were organized at various locations across District Ramban, focusing on messages such as “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and creating awareness about the PCPNDT Act.A Marathon, held in Zone Sangaldan, saw the active participation of nearly 200 individuals, contributing to the lively atmosphere of the celebration. The event showcased the enthusiasm and commitment of the community towards promoting women’s empowerment.The celebrations were not limited to physical activities but also included intellectual engagements like debates, slogan writing, painting competitions, skits, and more. These activities aimed at fostering an inclusive approach to raise awareness about women-oriented schemes and sensitize society towards the empowerment of women.Rahul Gupta, the District Social Welfare Officer in Ramban, emphasized the collaborative efforts of multiple departments in organizing diverse activities. He highlighted the commitment of the Department of Social Welfare to extend the impact of International Women’s Day beyond the celebrations, ensuring a sustained effort towards empowering women and fostering inclusive societal development.The Department reiterates its dedication to advocating for women’s empowerment, envisioning a society where every woman can thrive and contribute to the nation’s progress.
