In a significant decision, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday approved the renaming of Jhelum Stadium Janbazpora in Baramulla district to honor the late General Bipin Rawat, former Chief of Defence Staff.
As per the official order, the stadium will now be known as “General Bipin Rawat Stadium.” The Youth Services and Sports Department, along with the Deputy Commissioner in Baramulla, is directed to promptly initiate the necessary measures, including updating records to implement this change.
This move symbolizes a tribute to General Bipin Rawat’s contributions to the defense forces and underscores his enduring legacy in the region.
