In an effort to enhance security measures, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued directives to all its officers and personnel, emphasizing strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) while on duty or leave. This precautionary step aims to prevent incidents akin to the attack on Police Inspector Masroor Ahmed Wani at Eidgah on October 29.
Speaking at the wreath-laying ceremony for the late Inspector Wani, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the terrorist attack, ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar conveyed that thorough instructions have been given to ensure the conscientious observance of SoPs by all ranks within the force. He acknowledged the tragic incident at Eidgah, stating that although there were prior inputs about a potential attack, unfortunate errors can occur.
Assuring swift justice for the perpetrators involved in Inspector Wani’s killing, senior police and civil officers attended the ceremony to pay their respects. The commitment to reinforcing security protocols reflects the police force’s dedication to safeguarding public safety and preventing future incidents of violence.
