In a significant move to curb the spread of misinformation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s CIK wing successfully dismantled an unregistered news portal, “Daily News & Analysis.” The portal, featuring a Pakistan flag logo, was found guilty of circulating fake news aimed at disturbing peace and tranquility in the region.
Admins Zahoor Ahmad Khan and Abdul Rouf Peer, both residents of Kupwara, have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in spreading baseless rumors. Legal actions have been initiated, with a thorough investigation into their digital devices underway.
This operation highlights the authorities’ commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the public by combating the detrimental effects of false information. The J&K Police continue to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the integrity of information circulating within the region.
