Srinagar, August 13,(BuzzBytes)n a remarkable gesture to mark India’s 75th year of Independence, four Sarpanches from the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir are set to be special invitees at the iconic Red Fort in New Delhi during the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2023.As a tribute to the diverse contributions of individuals across the nation, a myriad of people including teachers, nurses, farmers, fishermen, artisans, and more have been extended invitations to attend the momentous occasion. Among them are the Sarpanches of vibrant villages, who have been recognized for their dedication to community development and progress. These Sarpanches are part of 662 vibrant villages from various regions.The invitation extended to these individuals is in line with the Government’s vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’, aiming to engage citizens from all walks of life in the nation’s celebrations. A total of around 1,700 individuals, including the Sarpanches, have been invited to participate in the event and be present for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address to the nation from the historic ramparts of the Red Fort.Speaking to DD News from Ganderbal District of Jammu & Kashmir, Smt. Mehbooba, Sarpanch of Village Manigam, Lar, Ganderbal, expressed her gratitude towards the Central Government and the district administration for this prestigious invitation.
