The Jammu & Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW) under the “Project Koor Cha Noor” supported by Azim Prem Ji Foundation in collaboration with the Zonal Education Department organized a two-day sports exchange programme for female students in the Hajin zone.
The event, which began on Wednesday, concluded on Thursday, with participation from more than 20 schools with more than 195 adolescents across Zone Hajin. Female students from various age groups, 11 to 19 years, actively took part in the event.
Over the two days, different sports categories were played, including Chess, Tug of War, Cricket, Carrom, and Volleyball. In Chess, Government High School Baharabad secured first place, while the Tug of War was won by Government Higher Secondary School Madwan. In Carrom, the Adolescents Girls Resource Centre (AGRC) clinched the top position.
The Cricket final turned out to be an exciting match, ultimately won by AGRC Hakabara in a super over. In Volleyball, Government High School Ajas bagged the first position.
The winners and runners-up were awarded certificates of appreciation. Speaking to Kashmir Reader, the Project Manager of JKASW said, “Our main objective is to uplift adolescents through education and empower them. Alongside education, we organized this sports event to showcase their talent, provide them with a platform for the future, and allow them to relieve stress.”
The event was attended by Project Manager Kulsum Bhat JKASW ,Principal HSS Hajin Mehboob Ahmad Khan ,Muntazir Muneer Zonal Cultural Coordinator and other physical education teachers of zone hajin and coordinators of Project koor cha Noor .
Muntazir Muneer presented vote of thanks and congratulated organisers for successfull event.
