KULGAM, JANUARY 16: In a concerted effort to elevate its status as an export hub and bolster the local economy, the District Level Export Promotion Committee, led by Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan, convened to formulate an impactful Export Promotion Action Plan for Kulgam district.During the meeting, GM DIC Bashir Ahmad unveiled a comprehensive blueprint for the District Export Promotion Plan. Notably, Red Chillies and Garlic have been identified as key products under the One District One Product initiative by the Government of India.Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan emphasized the need for a 20% increase in the production of Red Chillies and Garlic this year. The meeting witnessed a detailed appraisal of measures to enhance exports from the district, with discussions on finalizing the District Export Action Plan.Key stakeholders, including ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, JDP Zahid Sajjad, GM DIC, DM NABARD, CHO, CAO, and other officers, actively participated in the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner directed a thorough review of the Draft Plan, setting the stage for its approval in the upcoming meeting.The district’s ambitious initiative underscores a collaborative approach among various departments to pave the way for robust economic growth and position Kulgam as a thriving center for exports.
