Leopard Captured Following Attack on Youth in Hajin

Bandipora, January 22:In a recent incident in Hajin town of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, a 24-year-old government employee, Umar Zahoor, was attacked and injured by a leopard. The incident occurred in the Mir Mohalla locality while Umar was outdoors near his home.Promptly responding to the situation, local residents rescued Umar and swiftly transported him to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. Fida Hussain, the Range Officer in Bandipora, stated that a Wildlife Team, in collaboration with Force Protection Officer K08, led by Ranger Officer Fida Hussain, arrived at the scene and successfully captured the leopard.The injured individual, Umar Zahoor, is now under medical care, and the captured leopard has been safely relocated to Dachigam National Park. This decisive action by wildlife authorities not only ensures the well-being of the affected individual but also contributes to wildlife conservation efforts in the region.
