Srinagar, Aug 12 (BuzzBytes): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has summoned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to meet for its autumn session on September 21, 2026, in Srinagar, following a recommendation by the Jammu and Kashmir Council of Ministers.
The Lieutenant Governor has issued the order in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
Following the summoning of the House, the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will list the final calendar of business and sittings for the session.
The provision under which the order has been issued empowers the Lieutenant Governor to summon the House to meet at such time and place as he thinks fit, and the exercise of that power in the present case followed the recommendation made by the Council of Ministers.
The listing of the calendar of business by the Speaker will determine the number of sittings, the legislative business to be taken up and the schedule of question hours and other proceedings during the autumn session in Srinagar—((BuzzBytes))
