Jammu, Apr 11 (BuzzBytes): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday announced sweeping punitive measures against drug smugglers, including confiscation of properties, cancellation of Aadhaar, passports, driving licenses, and freezing of bank accounts.
Leading a ‘padyatra’ to launch a 100-day anti-drug campaign, Sinha warned, “Our neighbour is using cross-border smuggling to poison our communities. The full force of the law is now directed at smugglers. Their networks will be dismantled without delay.”
He said under new SoPs, Look Out Circulars will be issued for absconding smugglers, movable and immovable properties attached under NDPS Act, and financial investigations launched. “This crackdown will echo through generations,” he warned, urging public participation to make the ‘Nasha Mukt Abhiyan’ a success.
