In a remarkable display of strength and tenacity, Peerzada Suhail, a resident of Safarpora in District Ganderbal, has etched his name in the annals of powerlifting by securing a bronze medal in the highly competitive 120 kg weight category at the National Powerlifting Championship held in Surat, Gujarat.
The championship, a testament to the robust sporting spirit in the country, witnessed an impressive turnout of over 900 players hailing from 18 different states. Peerzada Suhail’s achievement stands out as a testament to his dedication and prowess in the realm of powerlifting.
The Safarpora native credited his success to the unwavering guidance and support of his coach, Mohammad Salman. Suhail emphasized that Coach Salman not only monitored his progress meticulously but also played a pivotal role in shaping him into a medal-winning athlete. The athlete also expressed gratitude to the Sports Association of Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging their instrumental role in facilitating his journey to the national podium.
The powerlifting championship unfolded at the S.M.C community hall in Katargam, Surat, Gujarat, spanning four intense days from November 30th to December 3rd, 2023.
