DC Kupwara Urges Strict Adherence to Curtailment Schedule in Power Supply Review Meeting

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, conducted a crucial meeting with officers of the Power Development Department (PDD) to assess the power supply situation in the district. Emphasizing the importance of minimizing inconvenience during the harsh winter, the Deputy Commissioner urged officers to strictly follow the curtailment schedule.

Ms. Ayushi Sudan directed officers to proactively address grievances related to power supply, establishing a district-level helpline for instant consumer grievance redressal. The SE PDD was tasked with designating a Nodal Officer to oversee and manage the helpline efficiently.

In addressing transformer maintenance, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for regular upkeep and replacement to ensure uninterrupted power supply for residents. Additionally, she urged officers to intensify inspections to combat power theft, emphasizing the complete eradication of crude gadgets. Regular reporting of inspection details to her office was mandated to monitor progress effectively.

During the meeting, Ms. Ayushi Sudan sought feedback on the progress of Receiving Stations in Dever, Natnussa, and Jaggerpora. She directed officers to promptly bring right-of-way (ROW) issues to her attention. The meeting witnessed the presence of Superintendent Engineer PDD, Executive Engineers from PDD Division Kupwara/Handwara, XEN from Sub Transmission Division, and other concerned officials.

The Deputy Commissioner’s proactive approach underscores the commitment to ensuring a reliable and efficient power supply, particularly during the challenging winter season, while also addressing infrastructure development concerns in the district.
