In the wake of a terrorist ambush in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir where five army personnel lost their lives and two were injured, security forces have initiated an extensive search operation in the district’s forest area. The General officer Commanding (GoC), XVI corps, Lt Gen Sandeep Jain visited the attack site to assess the situation alongside senior army and police officials. The White Knight Corps expressed deep respect for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism. To locate the terrorists responsible for the attack, aerial surveillance using helicopters is underway, and sniffer dogs have been deployed. The search operation, which began with a nighttime cordon, continues as authorities intensify efforts to track down the culprits.
