Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police made a significant breakthrough on Thursday by arresting two militant associates during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
The arrested individuals, identified as Yawar Rashid Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, and Basit Nabi Bhat, both residents of Saderkote Bala in Hajin Bandipora, were apprehended by the Police Station Parimpora at Shalteng Bund, according to police sources.
In a daring operation, the police also recovered a pistol, two magazines, 28 rounds, and a grenade from the possession of the detained suspects.
It has been learned that a case under FIR No.159/2023 has been registered against the duo, citing violations of sections 7/25 A Act, 4/5 Explosive Act, and 18, 23, 39 ULA Act. Furthermore, a motorcycle with registration number JK15B 6856, which was being used by them, has also been seized by the police.
This development marks a significant step in the region’s efforts to maintain law and order.
