Today my thoughts experienced a lift and the name resonating is none other than of Mr. Muzamil Paul sb . Muzamil Paul is a young vigorous poet and socio-cultural reformer, resident of Molu Dangerpora a small hamlet of District Shopian . Paul completed his studies in local schools and universities and is a teacher by profession. Muzamil Paul is born and brought up in an orthodox muslim family and inherited the traits of a good and pious muslim.
Muzamil Paul inherited the art of poetry from his late father Mr Mohammad Abdulla a lost jewel in the realm of portey. Even though most of his fathers poetry remained unpublished and confined to a limited number of masses , Muzamil Paul coined a good fame in this field. Paul is a well known poet and is associated with a number of cultural forums across the vale of Kashmir and in recent past his poems got recognition and published by many forums of national repute.
Muzamil Paul is prominently the budding poet of Kashmiri and Urdu languages, which is evident from the fame he coined for his poems. His genre of poetry is being admired by all sections of masses. Muzamil Paul has written compassionately highlighting socialism, reformation,love and religion. His poetry covers a broad spectrum of topics that varies from love influence , motivation, inspiration to religion. The below Stanza confirms the claim.
تخیل میں میری پرواز دے دے
مجھے حسان سا انداز دے دے
میں بکھری قوم کو یکجا سمیٹوں
میرے ادراک میں اعجاز دے دے
مزمل ؔ کی نظر افلاک پر ہو
مجھے پَر دے پرِِ شہباز دے دے
Started from a very tinder age , Muzamil Paul has participated in many poetic symposiums at state and national level to prove his metel and got abundant appreciations for his literary works and poetic brilliance. His vivacious personality and effervescent writings is a panacea for injured souls.
نہ لینا نام رکنے کا ابھی ہے امتحان باقی
ابھی ہے منزلیں باقی ابھی ہے کارواں باقی
ابھی تو مات دینی ہے جو آئینگے مقابل میں
ابھی تو بس فضاء دیکھی ابھی ہے کہکشاں باقی
ابھی کانٹوں بھری بنجر زمینوں کو سنورنا ہے
ابھی پھولوں کو کھلنا ہے ابھی ہے گلستاں باقی
مزملؔ ہم نے میدا میں ابھی بس قدم ڈالے ہیں
ابھی مضمحل جذبوں کو ہو نا ہے جواں باقی
An aesthetic sense prevails by reading some of his poems. The doubly fragrant golden words of Mr.Paul are bounty to his fans which they love to repeat and cherish.
تیرے غم خوشی سے ہمدم میں ادھار لے رہاہوں
جسے تو نے بوجھ سمجھا وہ غبار لے رہاہوں
کئے لاکھ یہ بہانے مجھے لوگ دینگے طعنے
تو تو ایک سہہ نہ پائی میں ہزار لے رہا ہوں
His contemplative lifestyle invoked the poetic muse in him that added different flavours to his poetry and brought his poems to life. His constructive criticism , expression of feelings, convoluted and absorbing stanzas added a perennial beauty to his poetry.
ہجر کی تنہائیوں کا خوف طاری ہے ابھی
عشق میں رسوائیوں کا خوف طاری ہے ابھی
بن میرے اسکو کبھی نا چین آتا تھا مگر
ان کرم فرمائیوں کا خوف طاری ہے ابھی
His contributions to the field of poetry and literature has left indelible marks on the hearts of his fans and people of the same calibre. In the tapestry of life Muzamil Paul has emerged as an artist with an art of rejuvenating hearts. His every stanza is full of satisfaction and glee, and an ambience of ecstasy for portey lovers.
موت کی دہلیز تک اک سفر ہے زندگی
~خواہشیں لمبی ہیں لیکن مختصر ہے زندگی
Muzamil paul is keen observer of social issues, religion, cultural changes etc which is quite evident from his couplets. He dipped the toe and then started mastering the art of poetry only at the age of eighteen. His perception about this ephemeral world is per the religious scriptures, which he has described in one of his couplets
موت کی دہلیز تک اک سفر ہے زندگی
خواہشیں لمبی ہیں لیکن مختصر ہے زندگی
Mr. Muzamil paul preferred “Muzamil” as his pen name to avoid any ambiguity with other poets. His understanding and hold on languages reflect from his pattern-oriented and rhythmic couplets. His way of highlighting any cause through poems is very unique and outshining, he knows the art of making words weight according to his will.
دریائے عشق میں وہ نہانے کی ضد پہ ہے
ڈوبے ہوئے کو اور ڈبانے کی ضد پہ ہے
میں ترکِ تعلق کا سبب پوچھتا رہا
وہ بات کو ہر بار گھمانے کی ضد پہ ہے
There is a lot to explore about Muzamil Paul, he is a cultural luminary keeping the art of poetry alive, when new progeny doesn’t give any heed to it. He is beacon bearer and an inspiration for new generation. People like him are born one in centuries and my suggestion is to set platform for these people to flourish.
مانا کہ لغزشوں سے ماوراء نہیں ہوں میں
انسان ہی ہوں کو ئی فرشتہ نہیں ہوں میں
I love to call him “Ghalib Of Shopian”
