BuzzBytes New Delhi, November 23:
In observance of World Toilet Day 2023, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) initiated the Clean Toilets Campaign, a 5-week initiative aiming to prioritize the effective operation and sustainability of public and community toilets. The campaign includes the Clean Toilets Challenge, recognizing model public toilets for their cleanliness, accessibility, and innovative design.

As part of the campaign, a 2-day national capacity-building workshop, organized under SBM-U 2.0, focuses on sanitation, mechanized desludging, and used water management in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The workshop highlights the need for innovation and governance, adopting a circular economy approach for effective sanitation management. Key discussions involve experiences shared by cities like Surat and Tiruchirappalli, setting examples in wastewater management and desludging practices. MoHUA remains committed to advancing sanitation practices and fostering a cleaner, healthier urban environment.
